Dissemination Forums
National Forums “Foreign Language Education for Active Citizenship and Democratic Culture” will be hosted in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania, and Ukraine. Each forum will feature project result presentations, panel discussions with keynote speakers, and interactive breakout sessions where participants collaboratively address contemporary challenges to citizenship and democracy. Through these events, the ENLACED consortium will not only disseminate project outcomes but also will model democratic dialogue by engaging participants in open discussion, promoting freedom of expression, and demonstrating how language serves as a vehicle for democratic participation.
National Forum by UNWE in Bulgaria
The University of National and World Economy (UNWE) successfully organized the Bulgarian National Forum for the ENLACED project, split across two key educational events and gathering 40 participants, including foreign language lecturers, academic representatives, and educators. The first part took place on June 13-14, 2026, in Ravda, Bulgaria, during the Fourth Annual Meeting of the Association of Language Schools in Bulgaria. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Antonia Pencheva presented the ENLACED, emphasizing the interactive escape-room style digital challenges that foster active learning and real-time progress tracking.
The second part was hosted at UNWE in Sofia from September 11 to 13, 2026, within the framework of the 33rd Annual International Conference of the Bulgarian English Teachers’ Association (BETA) and the 3rd Regional Congress of FIPLV-CEER. The UNWE project team delivered detailed presentations: The forum concluded with a lively discussion on transferring ENLACED results to other educational contexts.
Feedback from attendees was positive. Participants highlighted the valuable exchange of best practices and expressed enthusiasm for applying ENLACED resources in their teaching.
National Forum by UMFST in Romania
On September 29, The "George Emil Palade" University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureș, Romania, hosted the ENLACED National Forum, bringing together students and foreign language educators. A key highlight of the event was a live demonstration of the ENLACED Web App, giving participants a hands-on look at how the tool pairs C1-level English instruction with challenge-based tasks centered on key democratic principles like media literacy, active citizenship, diversity, and sustainability.
The forum wrapped up with a dynamic roundtable discussion, "The Ties That Bind", led by educator and artist Flavius Buzilă, communicator Cezar Sigmirean, and law student Andreea Parnic. The panelists and attendees examined the vital role that language, effective communication, and contemporary education play in uniting communities and nurturing a democratic mindset.
